It’s about 650 feet of climbing in 1.5 miles or so. I had to stop a few times to make it, but I feel great that I completed such a long climb!

Lilly and I did the Santa Clarita Hit the Trails event today. We rode 9 miles on the trails system from Placerita Jr. High School to Bridgeport Park and back.

I rode from my house down a major road and onto the bike trails that lead straight to the gym. I was averaging about 20 mph on the major road and then about 13 mph on the trails when thy were sloping up. I am not riding home though sine it’ll be dark and I have no lights. I’m surprised at how comfortable the ride was though. I went 7+ miles in 30 minutes. Let’s hope that this is the start of me getting in shape!

I finally made up my mind after test riding 4 different road bikes I decided on the Cannondale CAAD9 5. It’s got Shimano 105 components all around, except for the brakes which I’ll replace eventually. I’ll be ordering some more stuff to go with it in the next few days.
